Man suffers brain injury after ‘group of youths’ rob him in Worthing

A man has suffered serious injuries, including a brain injury, after a robbery in Worthing, according to Sussex Police.

Police said the man was reportedly approached by a group of around seven young people in the Rotary Recreational ground near the Grove Lodge roundabout at around 12.40am on Friday (May 15). 
A police spokesman said: “The victim was pushed to the ground and kicked in the head and body before his personal belongings were stolen.
“He suffered serious injuries, including a bleed on the brain and a fractured eye socket, and he was taken to hospital for treatment.”
Police officers combed the area in a search for the suspects, but they were not found, police said.
Sussex Police said it wanted any witnesses of the assault to come forward and report this information either online or by calling 101, quoting 55 of 15/05.
