Manhunt continues for inmate on the run from Ford Prison - 'Do not approach him, dial 999'

Police are still searching for an inmate, who has been on the run for more than a week after absconding from Ford Prison.

Jay Davis, 33, is reported to have gone missing around 8am last Monday (October 12).

According to Sussex Police, in an appeal on Friday (October 16), Davis was serving a sentence for possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

In a post on social media today (Tuesday, October 20), police said the inmate may have travelled to Hampshire, 'in particular Portsmouth'.

"Do not approach him, instead dial 999 if you see him," a police spokesperson said.

Davis is described as 5ft 6in, of slim build, with brown hair.
