Police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of 16-year-old Zahra Mathew-Evans, who was last seen shortly before 2pm on Tuesday (16 February).

A Sussex Police statement says that PCSOs have been engaging with members of the public in the village and the surrounding area in a bid to gain information about her whereabouts.

Inspector Roy Hodder, of the Sussex Police missing persons team, said: “We’re increasingly concerned for Zahra as she has been missing for 48 hours now. She is young and vulnerable, and has no access to a mobile phone.

“She is considered a high risk missing person as she may be sleeping rough and, given the recent cold spell, this is of significant concern.

“A number of PCSOs have been engaging with members of the public in the area, and sharing an image of Zahra in a bid to gather information on her whereabouts.

“Were you in Angmering on Tuesday when she went missing? Did you see her then, or have you seen her since?”
