Police renew witness appeal to collision involving woman and baby

Sussex Police has made a renewed appeal for anyone who may have witnessed a collision in Worthing last Friday, which involved a woman and baby.

New information has been released about the collision, which happened in Meredith Road, just before Midnight.

Emergency services were alerted by a member of the public to the collision after a silver VW Golf was found on its roof.

The car is believed to have collided with four parked vehicles before coming to a stop and a Nissan, Honda, Volkswagen and Kia were all found with damage, a spokesperson from Sussex Police confirmed.

The 24-year-old woman and baby, who were passengers in the car, were treated by medics at the scene but were not injured, it has been confirmed.

A 31-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested nearby, after fleeing the scene, on suspicion of possession of cannabis and driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs.

He has been bailed until December 21 pending further enquiries.
