Prisoner who absconded from Ford Prison arrested in Eastbourne

A prisoner who went missing from Ford Prison earlier this month has been arrested in Eastbourne.

James Hutton, 30, was reported missing from HMP Ford on Tuesday, July 14, police said, where he was serving a sentence for burglary, assault on an emergency worker and dangerous driving.

He was arrested in Eastbourne on Sunday (July 26) on suspicion of escaping from lawful custody and was remanded to appear before Brighton Magistrates' Court the following day.

The case has been sent for trial at Lewes Crown Court on August 24.
