Shoreham man jailed over Durrington robbery

A SHOREHAM man has been jailed for his part in robbing a teenager in Durrington.

Ricky Turrell, 23, of Rosslyn Avenue, pleaded guilty to robbery and handling stolen goods, and was sentenced to 30 months in prison, at Chichester Crown Court on March 22.

Darren Jestico, aged 20, of Victoria Park Gardens, Worthing, was handed a 12-month community order, 100 hours unpaid work, and ordered to pay £105 costs.

The robbery happened in The Causeway, on November 28.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, had just said goodbye to his girlfriend at Durrington railway station, when he was confronted by Turrell and Jestico, who threatened to hit him with a bottle unless he handed over his mobile phone, which he did.

Police arrested the two nearby, and the phone was found in their possession.
