A SOMPTING teenager has been banned from keeping animals after throwing a cat in a bath and nearly killing it.

The 17-year-old threw his mum’s cat in the bath after it urinated on the sofa.

The boy was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on May 14, and appeared at court again on Thursday for sentencing.

The teen, who can not be named for legal reasons, was given a nine month supervision order, a curfew from 9pm to 7am, and was ordered to do 60 hours unpaid work. For the full story see this week’s Herald (June 12).
