Sussex men found guilty after woman sexually abused for days

Charlie Jones, 28, raped and assaulted the victim after entering a property under false pretences, said Surrey Police.

A spokesman said a twelve-week trial heard Jones, of Masons Bridge Road, Redhill, invited various men to the property where they ‘systematically’ sexually abused her.

Jones was found guilty of five counts of rape, two of assault by penetration, two of sexual assault, one of criminal damage and one of assault causing actual bodily harm.

Joseph Noye, 27, of Plaistow Road, Billingshurst was found guilty on one count of oral rape, one count of sexual assault and one count of criminal damage.

James Joseph Wilson, 36, of Kingston Road in Leatherhead was found guilty on two counts of oral rape.

All three men have been remanded in custody until they are sentenced on January 22 at Guildford Crown Court.

Ross Noye, 22, of Jengers Mead in Billingshurst, was found guilty of theft after the victim’s mobile phone and electronic tablet were stolen during her ordeal. He was sentenced to 26 months in jail after activating a suspended sentence.

Jones was arrested shortly after the victim gained the courage to call police on the fifth day of abuse. He was charged and remanded in custody. A further six men were arrested in the days which followed with charges being brought against them and released on conditional bail until the trial.

Three other men arrested in connection with this incident were acquitted in court.

Detective Constable Ben Andreas from the Sexual Offence Investigation Team, said: “This was a lengthy and complex investigation and I am glad the four men involved in inflicting this ordeal on the victim have been found guilty for the crimes they committed.

“The victim has shown great strength throughout the judicial process and I hope the verdicts passed in court will go some way to help her move on with her life.”
