Teenagers in hospital after savage late night attack in Worthing

A SAVAGE and unprovoked late-night attack in Worthing by a group of men left two teenagers in hospital, police have said.

The attack took place at about 10.50pm on Monday, May 7, in Cortis Avenue, Worthing, and a 19-year-old and 18-year-old were punched and kicked by a group of up to six men.

The victims were taken to St Richards Hospital, in Chichester, but were discharged the following day.

Police said nothing was stolen from the young men, and no weapons were seen to be involved, but they are now seeking information about the attack.

Detective Constable Paul Tonks said: “This has been described to us as a savage and unprovoked attack. There has been mention of a dark four-door vehicle being involved.”

Worthing detectives are following several lines of enquiry from forensic examination, and from local eye-witnesses.

Det Con Tonks added: “If anyone saw what happened and has not yet contacted us, or if they have any other information, we ask them to contact us via 101 quoting serial 1596 of 7/5.
