Three arrested for Worthing street robberies

THREE teenagers have been arrested after street robberies in Worthing yesterday (Thursday, December 30).

Police were called to three robberies in Ashdown Road, Lyndhurst Road and Farncombe Road between 7.25pm and 8.30pm.

Two 17-year-old boys and a 19-year-old man were quickly arrested nearby on suspicion of robbery and remain in police custody today (Friday, December 31).

Police were called after a man was approached by two men in Ashdown Road and kicked to the head and back.

A mobile phone, keys and a bag of shopping, which also contained the victim’s wallet were stolen.

A further call was received at 7.54pm from another man who had been attacked, this time in Lyndhurst Road, by two men.

He was hit to the head and his mobile phone was stolen.

At 8.31pm another robbery was reported at Farncombe Road. The victim had been sitting in his car when he was approached by two men who demanded his mobile phone and money.

The victim was punched to his head twice, but nothing was stolen and he was able to drive off.
