A MAN and two teenagers have been charged with burgling more than £2,000 worth of jewellery and a TV.

Alert patrolling police officers in Salvington Road, Worthing, at 1.45am on Tuesday, October 9, noticed three young men acting suspiciously and stopped them.

The trio were found to be in possession of a quantity of jewellery and were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

Police suspicions were confirmed barely two hours later when a man returned to his house in nearby Hudson Close and found that it had been burgled sometime during the night and more than £2,000 of jewellery had been taken, as well as a TV.

The jewellery found during the arrests and was identified as coming from that burglary.

John Finch, aged 21, of Gatcombe Close, Worthing, and two boys, aged 17 and 15, who also live locally, appeared in custody at Worthing Magistrates’ Court yesterday, October 10, charged with burglary.

They were remanded on bail to appear at the same court on Monday, December 3, for committal proceedings.
