Three people charged with Worthing kidnapping

Three people have been charged with kidnapping and assault after a man reported being attacked in Rowlands Road, Worthing, on Saturday, February 27.

Alexandra Capone, 41 and David Ryan, 44, both of Marine Parade, Worthing, and Alfie Drew, of The Finches, Shoreham, are also charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence. Capone is also facing a charge of robbery.

They were due to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 1.

The charges all relate to the incident on February 27 when a 24-year-old man went into the Co-op store in Rowlands Road and reported that he had been attacked by several people at an address in the same road.

He was taken to Worthing Hospital and discharged early the following morning after treatment for cuts and bruising.

A 34-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man both from Worthing who were also arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and assault have been released on bail until May 3.
