Two Nigerian teenage girls who arrived in Worthing unaccompanied in recent weeks have gone missing.

Joy Igaharo and Esohe Ida-Ogabono, both aged 15, went missing on Good Friday afternoon (April 6) after saying they were going to church.

They were last seen at around 2.30pm, apparently heading for a Baptist church in Greystoke Road, Ferring, but they never arrived. It is believed they hadn’t met before arriving in Worthing.

Detective Inspector David Richards said: “We are deeply concerned for the safety and welfare of these two girls whose only knowledge of the UK is the Worthing area.

“However, we believe that they may have a contact somewhere in the UK and are now trying to link up with them.

“I am worried as to what that contact may have in mind for them and I would urge anyone who knows of their whereabouts or who has seen them since Friday afternoon to call Sussex Police immediately on 101 quoting serial 1370 of 06/04.”

Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
