Two women robbed and injured in Worthing town centre

Police are appealing for witnesses to two robberies in Worthing town centre.

Both incidents took place on Monday, August 10, according to police: one in Liverpool Gardens at around 6pm and one in Warwick Street at around 7.30pm, police said.

In the first robbery, a woman had money and personal items stolen from inside her bag and suffered minor injuries to her neck not requiring hospital treatment.

In the second incident, a woman had personal possessions stolen and suffered minor facial injuries not requiring hospital treatment.

A police spokesman said: “Officers investigating the robberies are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed either incident, or who has any other information about what happened.

“People can report online or by calling 101 quoting serial 1283 of 10/08. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

A 30-year-old woman from Worthing has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of robbery, police said. She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
