Witness appeal after two women assaulted in Worthing

Officers in Worthing are appealing for witnesses after two women were assaulted outside the Grand Victorian Hotel and Pub in Railway Approach.

Police said the two victims had been in the bar area of the hotel on Friday night (March 3) where they were enjoying a night out.

A police spokesman said: “It is believed that the suspects, two men, were also in the bar and then followed the women as they went outside at around 9.30pm.

“One of the men attempted to pick up one of the victims and then let go causing her to fall and hit her head on the pavement. The other victim was then hit in the face by the second man causing a minor cut to her lip.”

PC Slade said: “This was an unprovoked attack on two women who were enjoying a night out together. We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened or knows of the identity of the men.”

Police described the suspects as white, aged around 30 and one of them had a beard.
