Worthing man smashes his own car windscreen to 'stop police from selling it'
A Worthing driver has carried out a bizarre act of self-destruction in an attempt to get one over on the police.

According to a tweet from Adur and Worthing Police this afternoon (April 20), the silver Mazda MX-5 was seized after the driver was found to have only a provisional licence and no insurance.
Fearing the police were planning to sell the convertible, which is between 14 and 21 years old, the driver opted to smash his own windscreen in front of the waiting officers in an apparent bid to lower its market value.
Despite the extensive damage to the windscreen the car was still seized, the tweet said.
