Taking home first prize this year is Curry Zone, of Wallace Parade in Worthing.

The curry house was named as the winner following a public vote, in which voters were asked to take into consideration what it was that gave their chosen nominee the edge and what lifted it above its rivals. Hundreds of votes were registered for the curry houses that featured in this year’s top 10, but in the end, Curry Zone was named the overall winner.

Abed of Curry Zone said: “Curry Zone has gone from strength to strength over the last 13 years. Since the food hygiene rating system has started, Curry Zone has been awarded a five star rating by Worthing Borough Council.

““Curry Zone has a wide range of dishes - such as beef, fish and chicken - as well as its famous chicken tikka wrap. Our dishes are served in microwavable containers for heating at ease. All of our vegetables are fresh and is sourced from our local suppliers. Curry Zone never compromises with quality.

“We’ve also catered for weddings and birthday parties. We’ve supplied food for charities, such as Durrington High School’s fund raising events since 2012, as well as helping to raise money for the Shoreham air crash victims. We’ve also collected money for Worthing Churches Homeless Projects, as well as donating food. We regularly supply food for Worthing Football Club at Woodside Road.

“Thank you to all our customers and well wishers for supporting us for over a decade. Without our customers’ support, we wouldn’t be where we are.”
