A CYCLIST was knocked off his bike with a piece of wood and punched repeatedly by two men in Sompting.

The 24-year-old victim was cycling across Crowshaw Park, off Grafton Drive, when he was approached by two men.

One of them knocked him off his bike by hitting him with a piece of wood and then both attackers punched the victim repeatedly at about 9am on Wednesday, September 3.

They ran away towards Lancing railway station after a woman saw what was happening and shouted at them.

The victim suffered cuts and bruises to his head, chest and back.

PC Matt Welch said: “Although this happened several weeks ago I am sure anyone who saw what happened would remember it.

“I need to speak to anyone who was in the area and saw or heard anything or people who may have information about who was responsible.”
