Dancing elf in Durrington raises hundreds of pounds for charity

Zoe Green, 38, of St Anselms Road, Tarring, raised more than £600 for charity by dressing as an elf and dancing on the Centenary House roundabout, in Durrington.

Zoe said: “It has been the highlight of my year. It’s about raising money for charity and it’s all fun.”

Money raised from sponsorship will pay for a family to enjoy one week in the Luke Cory Trust caravan as well as the National Autistic Society Worthing’s annual trip to Holmbush farm.

The Luke Cory Trust was set up following the death 4-year-old Luke Cory in 2009. It provides fully equipped holiday accommodation to families supporting children and young people in the UK, suffering from life threatening illness.

Not only did Zoe dance for motorists, she also carried out a variety of other activities including working in a sweetshop, fixing a car in a garage and running a parents support group, all while dressed as an elf.

Clare Greaves, branch manager of NAS Worthing, said: “It’s fantastic what Zoe’s doing for both charities, it will help us support more families in Worthing.”
