THE daughter of a much-loved family man has paid tribute to her father following his funeral on Friday.

Former sea fisherman Wally Bashford died, aged 85, of lung cancer, leaving behind two children, a foster son, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Wally’s daughter, Selina Day, 56, of Sompting Road, Broadwater, said: “He was such a gentleman. He was proud of his roots, proud of being from a fishing family and he adored anything to do with Worthing.”
