“Children and general members of the public enjoyed getting involved with the tennis themed activities.”

The free event, launched in April by the Lawn Tennis Association to celebrate the first win for Great Britain in 79 years, showed highlights from last year’s final and Wimbledon live on a big screen.

Mr Lerwill added: “Fingers crossed to winning the Davis Cup again as it would be lovely to have it back on the south coast.”

The tour is arriving at 100 destinations in total across the country.
