Warrants were issued for one address in Park Road, Southbourne, where a man was arrested.

Operation Eagle was part of national Tackling Drugs Day, involving police forces across the country tackle drug dealing and the social problems associated with it.

In Arun and Chichester several agencies including drug intervention services were brought together, mainly targeting suppliers of drugs such as heroin, crack cocaine and meth amphetamine.

Arun district commander Chief Inspector Brian Bracher said that warrants had been issued as a result of intelligence from members of the public and that the operation would continue.

As part of the operation, police community support officers were also out speaking to residents about the operation to provide reassurance and to encourage more people to come forward with any information about drug dealers.

Chief Insp Bracher said: 'We need people to tell us, if we get three or four people giving us the same house we can then work with the community.

'We will continue to target those in our communities who deal in drugs, he added.

'My officers will continue to work with partner agencies to minimise the disruption this type of offending causes.

'We are determined to ensure that Arun is not a safe place for them to operate and that they face the real risk of being arrested.'
