Barratt David Wilson plans to build 112 new homes on the former Paula Rosa Kitchens manufacturing site in Robell Way, Storrington.

The planning application, submitted to Horsham District Council, seeks permission to demolish the existing buildings to make way for the homes and residents’ parking spaces.

Vehicle access from Robell Way would be kept, and a new pedestrian and cycle route would be added from Sullington Copse.

The plans include 73 houses at market price (11 two-bed homes, 46 three-bed, and 16 four or more bed) and 39 social rented homes (three one-bed flats, six two-bed flats, 18 two-bed houses, and 12 three-bed houses).

Parking space is allocated for 274 cars and 253 bikes.

The eight acre site was previously used to make kitchen furniture for Paula Rosa Kitchens, but the manufacturing was moved to Lancing after the company merged with Manhattan Furniture.

Documents submitted with the planning application say the site has been unused since early Spring last year.

Despite a 12 month advertising campaign by consultants Marshall Clark only one offer was received, which was below the site’s book value.
