The Post Office has put forward plans to close Lancing’s Crown Post Office in North Road.

A new branch would be created approximately 75m down the street at Garret’s Convenience Store, also in North Road.

Customers will be able to discuss the plans and raise any queries with Post Office representatives at the forum, which runs from 3.30pm to 7.30pm on Monday, June 19, at St Michaels Church Hall in South Street.

Subject to consultation, the new branch will have four serving positions in total and offer the same services as now.

It is proposed the branch would move in October 2017.

Roger Gale, Post Office sales and trade marketing director, said that the change would help to ensure the branch is commercially viable into the future and therefore protect Post Office services.

A six week consultation into the proposals opened in May and is due to close on Tuesday, June 27.
