Chris promised to be there saying ‘the kids would love it’ but he added he would ‘have to ask the wife first’.

The idea of British Lawn Mower Racing started in The Cricketers Pub at Wisborough Green 42 years ago.

The first races took place in the village before it moved to Brinsbury and then to its new home at Five Oaks.

Among the many legends who have put their foot to the metal over the years have been Sir Sterling Moss and five times winner of Le Mans, Derek Bell.
