Staff and four-legged friends at the rehoming centre, in Brighton Road, Shoreham, are taking the opportunity to thank Nina Shipley for all her hard work and support.

Local dog lover Nina joined the team as a volunteer in February, 2013, and soon became a friendly face around the rehoming centre, pitching in with everything and anything from laundry to dog walking and feeding time.

Three years on and Nina has been instrumental in helping so many furry friends be better prepared for finding their forever homes – including eight-year-old crossbreed Pixie, pictured with Nina. Pixie was shy around new people when she first arrived at Dogs Trust Shoreham, but Nina worked hard to gain her trust and, with plenty of one-to-one attention, she helped her to come out of her shell.

Tracey Rae, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Shoreham, said: “Nina has been a great asset to Dogs Trust Shoreham and has helped us immensely during her time here. From the moment she set foot inside the rehoming centre, Nina got stuck into her role – no task was too big or too small.

“She will be greatly missed and we wish her the very best of luck in her new endeavours. Whilst Nina has found a new home in pastures new, we hope some of the furry friends she has cared for will be lucky enough to get their ‘furrytale’ endings, too.”
