Donations sought for college Christmas appeal

Worthing College is asking people to help make a '˜dent' in homelessness and put a smile on the faces of children spending Christmas in hospital across Sussex.

Donations of bedding, blankets and toys are sought so students and staff can achieve their goal of making a difference to the four charities the college is supporting this year - Worthing Churches Homeless Projects, Shelter, Save the Children and SERV – Blood Bikes.

A donation den has been set up in the reception area of the college and from December 5 to 9, there will be a series of events organised by students and staff, the largest of which will be a Build a Den competition.

Anne Pithie, marketing and events manager, said: “To create a big impact, we are appealing to the wider Worthing community to help.

“Everyone can get involved by donating either bedding, blankets and toys. Just drop off at the college any time, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, between now and December 9.

“Worthing College charity week is designed to highlight the work of these charities to inspire students and the wider community to contribute to making a difference to others this Christmas.”
