Don’t miss chance to get your property marked up

A POLICE property marking event at Northiam on Saturday was a great success.

Now police are set to follow it up with another marking session at Iden on Monday.

Rye police sergeant Warren Downes said: “We were kept very busy at Northiam.

“ PC Nigel Collins and PCSOs Becky Unicombe and Richard Perchard marked many items and gave advice to all those who turned up.

“Marking your property makes it easier to identify if stolen and makes it much harder for thieves to sell on.”

The next property marking event is at Iden Stores, Church Lane, Iden on Monday between 4pm and 6pm.

PC Nigel Collins, PCSO Dan Bevan and Crime Prevention Officer Hilary Warden will be on hand to offer home security advice, as well as free property marking, registration to your weekly local Police updates and registration to the national property database www.Immobilise.com.

A few weeks ago various properties in Iden were targeted by heating oil thieves so police will also be issuing advice to those who own oil tanks.
