A GROUP of people have signed up to take part in a sponsored bike ride to make a little boy’s Disney dream come true.
Jack Bray was diagnosed with a brain tumour in May and is now having chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, which is likely to last a year.
To give him something to look forward to, a group of family friends want to raise money to pay for a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Stacey Farmer, of Coleridge Crescent, Goring, is organising a sponsored bike ride, called Back Jack, from London to Brighton in August.
He said: “I’ve got kids a similar age to Jack, so when I heard he was ill it really got me thinking about how I’d feel if it was my child. We all want to raise enough money for a really great trip to Disney – to give Jack and his family something to aim for.”
Jack’s mum Andrina, of Orchard Avenue, Lancing, said it has been difficult for the 10-year-old, who has lost his hair.
She said: “It has been very hard on him. He’s not been able to go to school since having the operation to remove the tumour in May, but his spirits have really been lifted knowing how many people care about him and are supporting us.
“He’s loving all the attention and thrilled about the bike ride. He wants to be able to take part himself and be pulled along in a trailer, but we’ll have to see how he is.”
The London to Brighton cycle ride will be held on August 25. Anyone who would like to take part should email firstname.lastname@example.org
