'Dress to impress' for Revival

REVIVAL visitors are being urged to 'dress to impress' with 110,000 people expected to flock to Goodwood this weekend.

The three-day event gets underway tomorrow with thousands of visitors expected to arrive at the Revival in period dress. Lord March, who caused a national stir with his apparent '˜chav' comments before the Goodwood Festival, is hopeful that everyone will get into the spirit of the event.

He said: 'For me it just wouldn't be the same in jeans and a baseball cap.

'We like to think that coming to the Revival is rather like going to a special event such as a wedding. Dressing appropriately is almost an expected part of the experience.'

The motorcircuit will also be dressed for the occasion with re-enactment groups, historic cars and period attractions at the Revival.

And this year includes a significant new attraction in the form of a sensational art deco-style period Woad Corner car showroom, with matching petrol pump and kiosk.

Created by Bognor Regis firm Model Tec, the showroom will replace the hugely popular Revival '˜period garage', which will be retained but moved to the other side of the track for 2007 as a fully-functioning workshop.

Lord March said: 'To me the Revival is pure theatre.'

Entry to the Goodwood Revival is strictly by advance ticket only, with some tickets still available.
