Driver sought after attack on Battle man

Police are appealing for witnesses after a driver got out of his car in Battle and assaulted a 30-year-old man.

The victim suffered swelling and pain to his head after being hit outside Stiles Garage near to Herrington’s Solicitors in Upper Lake, Battle High Street, on Monday morning (6 October).

PC Ian Riches said: “It was about 9.35am when the man was assaulted by a passing motorist. The driver, his car possibly a blue Fiat Punto with part registration N247, made an unprovoked attack. He’s described as 25-35, white, 6’ 2” and slender, with a small scar above his left eye. He wore a baseball cap in black with a silver peak, a black bomber jacket, white T shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms and light coloured training shoes.

“Anyone who recognises him or witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 or email [email protected] quoting serial 0326 of 6/10. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
