Drivers abusingparking rules
More than a quarter of available parking spaces in Rye High Street were taken by drivers who blatantly overstayed - some by up to four hours.
The information was revealed as Rye Community Transport carry out parking surveys in areas of the town.
But the group said that in general there was a good turn-over of spaces in the High Street.
They said East Street and Market Street did not have such a high turn-over, with most of the spaces occupied by residents.
More surveys are set to take place.
