Easter treats delivered to Worthing Hospital

Volunteers from SERV (Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers) Sussex handed over hundreds of Easter eggs as a treat for patients and staff. The majority went to Worthing Child Development Centre, Worthing CAMHS and Bluefin Ward.

Organiser Daniel Horn said: “After a few hard weeks of collecting, some fantastic donations and many, many people dropping eggs off, we managed to collect in the region of 800 Easter eggs.

“We had so many, we contributed to donations for the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Brighton and Conquest Hospital in Hastings. They were delivered on behalf of SERV Sussex.

“We also donated eggs to all staff on most of the wards, A&E, delivery and ICU, and more too, to show our appreciation of their hard work.”

The blood bikers usually run blood and other vital products to hospitals free of charge.

Every year, they try to do something for the hospitals in other ways, too.

At Christmas, Daniel arranged a collection of 250 presents for Worthing Hospital and in January, he raised £950 to buy five new iPads for Worthing Child Development Centre.

The SERV Sussex bikers were also out marshalling the fourth Easter Egg Run to Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice on Sunday morning.
