STUDENTS were jumping for joy at St Andrew’s High School for Boys on GCSE results day.
The school secured record-breaking results, with a 65 per cent pass rate for grades A* to C in five or more subjects.
Deputy head teacher Victoria Purcell said: “It has been another highly successful year for St Andrew’s and we are incredibly proud of all our students’ achievements.
“Both our staff and boys are dedicated and hard-working which reflects on the record results for 2011.”
Victoria added: “Our particular celebration this year is our overall percentage five A* to C including English and Maths which has risen by seven per cent in one year to 54 per cent. This demonstrates that St Andrew’s is a good and improving school where our students enjoy learning and achieve their grades to go onto the next stage of their lives.”
