FRUIT kebabs, exercise sessions and a muddy run were just some of the highlights of a week designed to boost the fitness of children at a Tarring school.
Thomas A’Becket First School, in Pelham Road, hosted its third annual Getting Fit for Life week and the focus was keeping the mind and body healthy.
Activities during the week, included Zumba – a fitness class combining Latin and international music – and Wake Up Shake Up sessions for the school every morning.
Children also made a range of healthy food choices and devised their own lunch boxes, with the week concluding with a sponsored muddy run around the perimeter of the school.
Money raised from the run will go towards enhancing the outside areas of the school.
Rachel Kendal, deputy head teacher, said: “The children all had a fun and full schedule of healthy activities in their sports clothes all week.
“Parents reported that children slept well that week!”
