WELLIES and jellies were the theme at a nursery charity day which raised money to help a four-year-old Worthing boy who has a life limiting condition.
William Sainsbury, of Beckett Road, suffers from mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS), and appeared in the Herald after his sister donated bone marrow to improve his quality of life, and life expectancy.
The Laugh and Learn Nursery, in High Street, Tarring, held a welly day to raise money for the MPS society – which helps William – because wellies are William’s “favourite”.
The event was held in conjunction with the national MPS awareness day.
Sharon Bennett, manager of Laugh and Learn, said: “Wellies are William’s thing. They are his favourite type of shoes.
“The children had a brilliant time. It was really good fun.”
All the children were sponsored by their parents and £450 was raised.
