THE 12 days of Christmas have been brought to life by staff from businesses across Worthing to raise money for Oak Grove College.
South Coast Productions came up with the idea to create a parody video version of the song, with each business singing the lyrics to a different verse of the iconic Christmas number.
Pupils from Oak Grove College, in The Boulevard, were also filmed singing some of the song, accompanied by the tuneful stars of Worthing’s pantomimes, including Snow White, Prince Charming and Muddles, and three girls of the harem from Aladdin.
Glen Harris, director of South Coast Productions, which filmed the video, while Splash FM recorded the sound, said: “The atmosphere was electric.
“Only 16 days separated our initial idea from the final filming session and credit must go to the children and teachers who did a truly fantastic job of learning the carol, despite losing half of their rehearsals due to the snow.
“Supported by the professional singers, the children sang their hearts out, producing a performance worthy of any of the town’s theatres.”
The video has raised more than £1,600 for Oak Grove College.
Companies that took part in the production were Care Wise Carers, PEP the Printers, Splash FM, Titanium Web Design, Bennett Griffin, Quality Kwik Dry Cleaners, La Belle The Beauty Boutique, Shoreham Vehicle Auctions, BNI Worthing and Reel Catering.
Sharon Kettlewell, the school’s business manager, said: “We would like to thank South Coast Productions for giving our students the opportunity to take part in this special event. The students thoroughly enjoyed making the video and meeting the stars and we must say a big thank-you to all the companies who sponsored this event.”
