Elderly woman dies in Findon house fire

AN ELDERLY woman who died after a fire at her bungalow in Findon Valley has been named locally as 90 year-old Olive Angless.

Firefighters were called to the property, in Lime Tree Avenue, at 2.37am this morning (Monday, March 18).

Neighbours had raised the alarm and fire engines were on the scene in minutes.

A spokesman from Sussex Police said the incident was currently being treated as “unexplained”.

He said: “Emergency services were called to a report of a house fire in Lime Tree Avenue, Findon Valley, shortly after 2.30am on Monday 18 March.

“The body of an elderly woman, believed to be the sole occupant, was found in the address. At this early stage the death is being treated as unexplained, and enquiries are under way.”
