BRAVE indeed is the man or woman who eats wild fungi.

For me, blewits behave like indoor fireworks inside my insides. Yet other people queue up for them in markets in the Midlands.

The pale violet stem looks evil to me but friends claim Lepista saeva is far more savoury than supermarket mushrooms and probably very good for you as well.
