Travellers caused chaos in Worthing on Thursday and Friday, moving from one green space to the next and prompting residents to take matters into their own hands.
Caravans occupied the green space between Anscombe Road and Bernard Road on Thursday before moving on to the playing fields at Durrington High School at around 7.30pm.
The council served an eviction notice on Friday afternoon and the travellers left the site by 2pm, sparking fears they would return to the seafront.
Concerned residents then took action, using 20 cars and a coach to blockade the green space on West Parade to stop the caravans getting back in.
But now the travellers have moved to Findon, breaking a padlock and fencing to gain access to Nepcote Green.
Residents say at least 15 caravans arrived in the village at around 2.30pm.
Police have been called.
