Extreme Cellists play Worthing Pier as part of whistle-stop tour

Cellists Jeremy Dawson, 40, and Clare Wallace, 56, from Sheffield, and James Rees, 36, from Chester, were visiting all 58 surviving piers in Great Britain, giving a performance on each in aid of two charities: Alzheimer’s Society and CHICKS.

Beginning in Scotland, they are touring the coast of Britain in a clockwise direction, covering approximately 2,500 miles.

Last Wednesday they hit the Sussex coast, starting in Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton, through to Worthing Pier and finishing in Bognor.

Cellist Jeremy said: “We aim to raise in excess of £5,000 for two very good causes this summer, and we hope that we’ll introduce cello music to holidaymakers who might not be expecting it!”

The Extreme Cellists were formed in 2003 and have since raised over £38,000 for charities by playing in various extreme locations.
