Fairground fall ‘most horrific thing I have ever seen’

A WOMAN who was on a fairground ride when an 18-year-old fell from the attraction has spoken of her horror of witnessing the incident.

Faith Paine said the incident on Thursday evening (April 17), in which college student Beth Thorpe sustained minor injuries, was ‘without doubt the most horrific thing I have ever seen in my life’.

The fall occurred on the ‘Rocker’ ride at the fair on Worthing seafront.

She said: “Just seconds after the ride started she was flung about like a rag doll.

“I was trying to scream ‘stop’ and ‘help’ but it was too late.”

The ride was closed while the Health and Safety Executive investigated on Friday

It was later given the all clear.
