Fans launch petition to save cancelled ‘Cuffs’

Diehard fans of BBC One’s cancelled cop drama Cuffs have launched a petition to save it.

The show that was filmed around Shoreham, Worthing and Brighton was cut short after just eight episodes, leaving fans begging for more.

Following its dramatic final on December 16 that saw PC Lino Moretti, played by Alex Carter, seriously hurt in an explosion, fans were disappointed to see cast members announce on Twitter that the show will not be renewed for a second series.

But in an attempt to keep the show afloat, a petition has been launched called ‘Bring back Cuffs for second series’, and almost 7,000 signatures have been collected.

The petition states: “We loved the first series of Cuffs. Help by signing the petition to let BBC know we want more.”

A Twitter account has also been launched called @welovecuffs.

If you would like to see more of PC Ryan Draper, PC Jake Vickers and DS Jo Moffat patrol the streets of Shoreham and Worthing, sign the petition to help reach its 7,500 goal: click here and support Cuffs
