Dino Dichello, 41, from Worthing, was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2010 and had surgery at his local hospital.

He was then referred to The Royal Marsden for chemotherapy treatment, and after 11 months went into remission.

He has now signed up for next year’s Marsden March with his wife Lisa.

He will be walking 14 miles between the hospital’s sites in Chelsea and Sutton to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer charity.

Dino said: “It’s safe to say that without The Royal Marsden and the dedication and expertise of its staff I wouldn’t be here today. We owe our deepest thanks to all the staff, in particular the nurses for their tireless care and help.

“The care from the staff was second to none and we are forever indebted to them all. We are doing this walk as a way of saying thank you and to give something back. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer so by supporting the charity, this hospital will be able to provide hope and support for future patients.”
