Ferring housing project beats credit crunch

DOOM and gloom dominates the new homes scene these days, but a south Ferring beachfront development has bucked the trend.

All nine of the Blue Waters luxury apartments were sold within a few months of them going on the market.

And eight of the two-bedroom homes, on the Ferring/Worthing boundary, were snapped up before site work started late in 2007, at prices ranging from 350,000 to 620,000.

Each apartment also has two bathrooms, plus sea views and either a balcony or private patio area.

Asked why the development had sold so quickly, Barry Rayner, a partner of developers Chas James Homes, told the Herald: "It is a unique building, on a unique site, in a unique location."

Mr Rayner said all the apartments would be completed and occupied from the early part of February.

The Art Deco-influenced Blue Waters is on the site of a former care home.
