Ferring residents urged to be vigilant following thefts

Several thefts from vehicles and a garage in Ferring have prompted police to urge owners to pay particular attention to security.

They are being asked not to leave valuables in vehicles and to ensure they are locked and secure.

Recent incidents have included a Kenwood stereo being stolen from a car parked in Chalet Gardens, between Saturday and Monday, serial 231 of 14/09 and a camera stolen from a vehicle in Brook Lane, between Thursday and Monday, serial 301 of 14/09.

A Honda lawn mower and Echo hedge trimmer were stolen after the lock on a garage in Jersey Road was forced overnight on Sunday.

Other, earlier thefts from vehicles are also being investigated in Collindale Road North and Brook Lane.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious or who may have other information is asked to email [email protected] or phone 101. Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111.

If a crime is believed to be in progress, please dial 999 and ask for police immediately.
