Festival to roar into action for the 13th time
The Worthing Lions Festival continues this weekend, raising thousands of pounds for good causes.
Returning for the 13th year, last weekend saw crowds entertained at Worthing Fire Station’s open day and More Radio’s concert in Steyne Gardens.
Thhis Saturday and Sunday will see events held around the town. Steyne Gardens will be filled with classic cars and scooters from 10am to 6pm.
Yeoman car dealers will also show the latest models of Toyota, Peugeot and Honda on the promenade opposite the Lido.
Marian Down, festival president, said: “On behalf of all members of Worthing Lions, I hope you enjoy our festival and all it entails.
“It takes a great deal of hard work throughout the year to put it on and our reward is seeing the happy faces of people out enjoying themselves.”
Saturday will see the day close to a firework display off the pier at 10pm.
Sunday will open with the Salvation Army Band in front of the pier at 10.30am.
American custom cars and hot roads will be in Steyning Gardens from 11am to 5pm. There will also be a bus rally from Heene Road to Grand Avenue from 10am to 5pm.
Barties Commercial Beach Market will be on the promenade all weekend, too, from 11am to 10pm.
Programmes produced by the Herald will be given out by the Lions during the weekend.
