Findon Village Gardens Association members had weathered the storm to put on a successful spring flower show.

Committee member Maureen Bowen explained: “The number of entries was slightly down due to the weather and Storm Katie, which caused a little bit of havoc in the gardens.

“But all the entries we had were up to the usual standard and the smell going into the hall was just beautiful, with all the different varieties on show.

“It was a very successful day. The weather was very kind to us and there was a steady flow of visitors throughout the day.”

The main feature was the daffodils but there were also orchids, houseplants, cacti and cookery.

“The flower arrangements are always fabulous. They are exquisite, they are so clever,” added mrs Bowen.

“We also had leeks and rhubarb.”
