FIREFIGHTERS battled to put a blaze out for two hours after a fire started in a Chinese restaurant.
Four fire engines were called to the Royal Beijing Chinese restaurant, in Montague Place, at 11.40pm last night (Tuesday, May 1) after the ceiling in its kitchen caught fire.
As a result of the fire, the ceiling in the restaurant had to be removed.
Around 20 firefighters battled the blaze and residents in the flats above the restaurant had to be evacuated because of smoke logging.
It is believed to have been the second time firefighters had visited the Royal Beijing in one day.
No-one was injured in the fire.
