A GARAGE in High Salvington was ravaged by flames last night.
Firefighters attended the blaze in Mill Lane at 7.47pm. Two crews from Worthing arrived initially, before calling for two further appliances, one from Lancing and one from Worthing, to join them.
The detached domestic garage suffered 20 per cent damage by fire, while 50 per cent of the roof was damaged by the flames. The whole roof was damaged by smoke and heat.
Two LPG gas cylinders were removed from the garage and cooled.
Ten breathing apparatus, two jets, two hose reels and one hydrant were used to tackle the fire.
Crews left around 11pm and a further inspection will take place this morning.
The cause of the fire is said to be accidental.
